Because you're here, I'm guessing a congratulations is in order. Maybe you're tying the knot, graduating, having a child, launching a product or just thinking you could use some new, amazing photos of yourself. Whatever it is, I'm sure glad you're here and let me introduce myself. And congratulations. :-)

My name is Mary Rowles and photography is just part of who I am. Literally. It goes leg, leg, arm, arm with camera attached. I've put said camera in front of a lot of really cool things through out the years - like the ocean and national parks, mountain ranges and city skylines in this great state and all over the world, wild animals, not so wild animals, starry nights, cheese plates, glasses of wine and cups of coffee, football fields, libraries, and my prized Subaru Crosstrek, Karen. And I usually remember to take off the lens cap. All of the things that make up this weird and wonderful world we all live in, I've tried to capture in one way or another. However, no subject will ever be more interesting to me than people, always and forever. It's what I always come back to in my photography and the one thing that truly gets me so excited about art making and story telling. No subject is more compelling or unique. People are different every time and there's no one way to capture them. That's what makes this whole thing so damn fun. 
 

I think, in life, all we're really searching for is connection and a way to relate to one another and photography gives me a rare and beautiful way to reach others that I'm so thankful for. I'm interested what makes people who they are. And I'm most interested in bent arrows and people who might lean a little left of center. Whatever gives you your personal style, your tiniest bit of an edge and that certain... je ne sais quoi, is solid gold as far as I'm concerned. I think you, you reading this, have something real special to give and I would very much like to help you express it, whether that's through seriously gorgeous portraits, telling your brand story or carefully capturing the magic of the most important days of your lives, I'm probably into it too. I don't know, I think we could make something really cool together. I'm nice. I'm not basic. I promise I'm fun to hang out with. I'm grateful to do what I love, meet the ah-mazing people I have through this craft, and do what I feel I was put on God's green earth to do - make great photos that will stand the test of time and make people feel heard and seen. With a little style, of course.
